What are the ingredients for one soft pretzel?
I just want to make one soft pretzel but cant find the ingredients to make one. Anyone know?
It's not worth it for only one pretzel. Try this recipe it makes about 6 mediumish pretzels, you can bakeone and freeze the others and just slide into thte oven when you want them.
1 cup milk
1 pkg active dry yeast (I used fast acting-don't know if that makes a difference)
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 1/4 cups flour, plus more for kneading
10 tbsp butter
1 tsp fine salt
1/3 cup baking soda
2 tbsp coarse salt
For the sauce:
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 dijon mustard
3 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
1- 1 1/2 tsp apple cider
1. In a saucepan warm the milk to 100 degrees, pour into a mixing bowl and sprinkle in the yeast. Let it soften for about 2 min, then stir in the brown sugar and 1 cup flour.
2. Soften and dice 2 tbsp butter and add to the mix. With a wooden spoon mix in the remaining flour and fine salt until you have a sticky dough.
3. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until tacky yet smooth (about 5 min) adding flour as neccesary. Put in a greased bowl, turn oer once and cover, set in a warm spot ad allow to double in size.
4. Preheat oven to 450, punch down and divide into 6 pieces, roll out into 30 in ropes. Shapes into pretzels shapes.
Meanwhile dissolve the soda into 3 cups water. Dip each pretazle in the soda water and lay on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle on the salt and bake for 10-12 mon or until light brown.
5. Meanwhile mix up the dipping ingredients and put in the fridge and melt remaining butter.
6. When the pretzels are done dip in or brush woth melted butter.
